These timeless stories by the iconic American poet Carl Sandburg (1878-1967) are situated at the border of the absurd.  Steeped in characters from America’s folkloric heartland, such as the street accordionist “The Potato Face Blind Man,” by “Spink” and “Skabootch,” they will be set for banjos, fiddles, accordion, marimba and cello, and will combine operatic singing and old-time folk.
